Jesus said, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Trusting that our Lord is with us and with those we serve, we are bold to pray -
Living Lord, we pray for all of those who are affected by this pandemic. For those who are ill, bring your healing touch. Watch over, guide, and bless those who serve in hospitals - from the doctors and nurses, to those who prepare the food and clean the rooms and everyone else involved. Grant the supplies that are needed at every level. Watch over those in nursing homes. Grant them your strength and help and send messages of hope that ward off loneliness. Never let us lose sight of compassion for the sake of Christ. Mercifully grant us relief. Lord in your mercy … hear our prayer in Jesus’ name.
Lord, we lift up those who are incarcerated and those who work with them during this pandemic, especially our own jail / prison chaplain. Watch over them. Keep them from getting this illness. We pray that you would use this time and this experience to renew their faith and their lives, even as you do the same for all of Your people. Lord in your mercy … hear our prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.
